(Doug Fir, 830 E Burnside) Sweet and peppy tracks pour forth from Portland’s Oh Darling, a team of four whose album Nice Nice is released tonight. Bits of Blondie and the Pixies peek out of the rock/pop crew’s sound, along with some new millennium rhythm and a little bit of garage rock as well. Oh Darling have got that sweet-like-candy sound down, as their high-pitched vocals-the stylish Jasmine Ash’s voice makes Nina Persson’s sound deep in comparison-are met with a grand dose of bass guitar and smashing drums, rendering the band a pleasant blend of the rock-hard and the ultra-soft.
